In the summer, you can even take in an IndyCar race on the 2.3-mile Belle Isle Park road course. The Detroit Grand Prix features top IndyCar drivers from around the world reaching speeds of over 200 miles per hour.
When you move to Detroit, you can expect a diverse cultural mix of people and food. In Southwest Detroit, there is Mexicantown where you can find Hispanic bakeries filled with favorites of Latin America. Metropolitan Detroit has the largest Arab American population and has a plethora of Mediterranean restaurants in the area. Hamtramck is a city inside of Detroit and is home to popular Polish restaurants such as Polish Village Café, Polonia and Krakus Restaurant. Paczki Day is a big deal in Hamtramck and the lines to purchase enormous jelly filled pastries are very long when Fat Tuesday comes around.
